Recent options like HBO’s Chernobyl or The Alienist from TNT deliver in abundance on the former, but an old boys’ club continues to make up their storytellers, actors, and to an extent, intended viewers. ![]() ![]() It’s hard to find a good historical drama that satisfies with nostalgia yet avoids the backwards trappings of the past.
